Music and Memory Therapy

Memory Care Facility

Music can act as much more than a form of entertainment, but can break down barriers of disease and disability. Our Windsor Place facility is proud to use music and memory therapy with our residents.

Music and Memory Therapy is deeply rooted in years of extensive neuroscience research. Familiar music is utilized to help patients and residents recall memories and emotions. Not only is music used as a memory enhancer for dementia patients, but it’s a way to reach beyond the disease and truly reach the person.

Windsor Place is certified in music and memory training, and we are proud to be a memory care facility in Texas. Residents are able to take part in continual music therapy sessions at our facilities, in which a personalized music playlist is created for each individual. This calms the resident, and allows them to relax and revive their memory.

Music and Memory Therapy – Dementia Care

Music and memory therapy is incredibly useful in dementia care. This unique form of therapy and rehabilitation aids with:

  • Enhancing cognition
  • Boosting brain activity
  • Producing a calming effect
  • Enhancing quality of life
  • Renewing meaning and connection in patients’ lives

We love to see what music can do in the minds and hearts of our residents, and we’re thrilled to play a part in their lives.
